About Jenny Juhnke
Your instructor, Jenny Juhnke
(Pronounced Yun-KEE), has traveled the world teaching and training
in the English language. You may ask, "What type of experience
does she have that will assist in
my personal or professional goals?" The information
below
will help you gain more familiarity with her style of teaching and
qualifications. Also, you should feel more comfortable knowing
Jenny is Berlitz certified, trained in both TEFL and TESOL, and she
holds a certificate in TEFL. Jenny has also won many awards as
lead instructor, most valuable instructor, and she has been recognized
in Europe and Asia as a trainer for ESL instructors. Her belief
is the student is the main focus of any class, and it is important to
make sure students are receiving corrections and feedback at all times
for their English.
Background Story
Jenny was born on
Okinawa, Japan in 1965. Since then, she has lived in over 24
places and countries, to include Germany, Hawaii, Japan, and mainland
USA. U.S. States
that she has called "home" are: Georgia, Florida, Maryland,
Nebraska,
Kansas,
Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Virginia, Hawaii, and Washington,
DC.
She has traveled to more than 15 countries, having worked in the field
of English as a Second Language teaching and coaching students in
Germany,
France, and Japan. One of her favorite destinations is Paris,
France, where she performed a concert by invitation from the Notre
Dame Cathedral with her
international chorus from Frankfurt, Germany.
Teaching
Experience & Qualifications
As a Communications and Public
Relations student in her university studies, Jenny was under a full
scholarship which included a large number of higher-level expectations
for her graduation
requirements. Besides having a radio broadcasting license and
working
as a freelance journalist for her alumni university magazine on
occasion,
Jenny writes a good deal of poetry and is a published poet. A
favorite
pastime is correspondence with friends and former students who live far
and near, and Jenny enjoys writing song lyrics occasionally. She
has
recorded a few radio commercials to include the "jingle" of one small
radio
station a few years ago, and Jenny acted as one of four commentators
for
a live English television program in Strasbourg, France that broadcast
on
their cultural channel, Arte 3. She has received formal training
in many business English categories for ESL classes, and she has a TESL
certificate with 140 hours of credit. Jenny's professional resume
